大平 啓人 -オオヒラ ケイト-
1959年12月3日 福岡県北九州市出身。
15歳からドラム、37歳から歌を始める。
1975年からBAND活動を開始、1999年よりソロとして
各国の一流ミュージシャンとも多数競演を果たす。その後も
数々の活動を経て、『叩き語り』という独自の世界を開拓する。
樹齢800年のケヤキで作られた神楽太鼓を叩いた時に、
木のぬくもりが持つその音の深み、スケールの大きさに感動し、
それ以来和太鼓を自分のドラミングに取り入れる。
日本独自の「間」というなんとも理解しがたい感性でかなでるリズムがある。
その「間」のリズムとロックのリズムの融合で波動を伝えるドラミングを開拓し続けている。
Keito Oohira was born on the 3rd December 1959.
He is a Japanese drummer/singer from Kita Kyushu (North Kyushu), Fukuoka.
He started drumming at the age of 15 and pursued singing later on his career.
Keito has been exploring the new genre “Singing whilst Drumming” (Tataki Gatari) since 1999.
When he first played a specific drum used in Shinto* music and dance (Kagura Daiko)
it was made of an 800 year old Japanese tree named Zalkova,
he was deeply moved by that fathomless sound which has the warmth
of the ancient wood and was struck by the infinite scale of the sound.
“Ma” is a very unique Japanese concept of using a pause/silence,
which has to be played during a heightened sensitivity
and cannot easily be explained in words.
He has been exploring the meeting point of “Ma” and the rhythmic
ideas found in Rock music to convey the pulsation of this genre.
